A bespoke miniature commission is not an order. It is a conversation — one that ends with a tiny, handmade world that belongs entirely to you.
Enquire NowEvery piece that leaves the Little World Workshop is made by hand, from a variety of materials and techniques, one at a time. But a commission goes further still.
This is where you bring a memory, an idea, or a world from your imagination — and I bring it into physical existence. An overgrown disused railway line walked as a child; an old rope swing over a river or pond; a rural path walked with a family dog — a cherished place, recreated in miniature and placed under glass for someone who loves it as much as you do. Or perhaps a ruin and particular terrain piece for your next DnD or tabletop wargame.
I take on a small number of bespoke commissions each month, working closely with each person to ensure the finished piece is not merely accurate, but alive.
A favourite dog walk or fishing spot. An old allotment or much-loved garden, with its familiar corners and well-worn shed. A woodland trail, a still pond, or a hidden coastal cove where they went to switch off and simply breathe. Each scene is carefully recreated and presented under a glass dome, on a wooden plinth, or within a shadow box — capturing not just how a place looked, but what it meant. A deeply personal gift, made to last, and to be treasured long after the moment has passed.
Fairy toadstool homes, mystical cottages, gnomes and enchanted woodland scenes — designed as display pieces and presented under a glass dome or on a wooden plinth. Pieces that belong in a world just slightly to the left of this one: charming, detailed, and impossible to walk past without a second look.
Lineside buildings, rural cuttings, and landscape — built to OO, 009 or your chosen gauge and era. The focus is always on nature reclaiming the edges: reeds crowding a pond, roots lifting a path, weeds pushing through ballast. Every scene is packed with the kind of small details that reward a slow look — the kind you notice differently each time. Featured in British Railway Modeller.
Crumbling ruins, cave mouths with genuine depth, swamp terrain with real atmosphere. Handmade scatter terrain that makes a board feel inhabited — arcane altars, standing stones, smouldering campfires. Each piece hand-sculpted to survive a long campaign and look quietly extraordinary between games.
Every commission begins with a conversation. Tell me what you have in mind — the mood, the scale, the story. I'll ask questions, share thoughts, and together we'll shape something specific and honest. There is no obligation at this stage.
Once I understand what you're looking for, I'll put together a written proposal — scope, materials, timeline, and price. Commissions begin at £50 for small pieces, rising to £200 and up for larger works, and are priced to reflect the hours of dedicated craftsmanship involved, not a formula.
Once agreed, I begin in the studio. Throughout the build I send regular photographic updates from the workbench — you'll see your world take shape from raw clay and timber, through painting and weathering, to the final details that bring it to life.
Your finished piece is carefully packaged and shipped from my Surrey studio, fully insured. If you're local, you're always welcome to collect in person.
Bespoke personal commissions begin at £50 for a small piece, rising with scale, complexity, and build time. A single-scene nostalgic gift will sit toward the lower end; a multi-element museum diorama or large retail display will be quoted individually to reflect the work and materials involved.
I'll always provide a clear, written quote before any work begins. There are no surprises.
A deposit is taken to confirm your commission slot, with the balance due on completion before dispatch.
An absolute exquisite piece — the quality is second to none.

Most personal commissions complete within two to four weeks. Larger display or museum pieces will have timelines agreed at the proposal stage — I'll always be transparent about lead times upfront.
Yes. I work in OO, 009 and other gauges for railway work, and in scales appropriate to wargaming systems or display requirements. Museum and retail commissions are scoped to your spatial needs.
Absolutely — and many of my most meaningful commissions are exactly that. I can ship directly to the recipient with no invoice enclosed, and include a handwritten card if you'd like.
Yes. I've worked on commercial commissions for businesses in the wargaming industry and understand the requirements of institutional clients — accuracy and presentation — and am happy to discuss project briefs of any scale.
Very much so. A bespoke handmade scene draws attention in a way that printed or digital display simply cannot — it invites people to stop, look closely, and feel something. If you're considering a miniature for retail or brand use, let's talk.
That's not a problem — and more common than you'd expect. A rough idea, a photograph, or even just a feeling is enough to start the conversation. We'll shape the rest together.
I take great care packing and shipping all my pieces, treating each one as I'd want to receive it myself. Every model is individually wrapped, placed in a strong cardboard box with additional protection, and shipped via Royal Mail.
For smaller commissions, I can build them under glass domes or within picture-box frames behind glass; larger pieces can be supplied in glass display boxes. All pieces are built to last and can be lightly dusted if needed.
Throughout the production of your commission, I'll keep you updated with pictures so there are no surprises. You have seven days after receiving it to come back to me with any questions. Where electronics are incorporated — lights and so on — I use long-life components.
Tell me about your idea — however formed or unformed it might be. Whether it's a gift heavy with memory, an OO gauge model railway scene, DnD or wargaming terrain, or a display for a museum wall, every bespoke miniature commission starts the same way: with a conversation.
